Out of The Ashes
This is one of three casts I made of this piece.
The piece commemorates the loss of life on September 11, 2001.
It started out as a commission of “Venus” but quite literally while working in my studio that day the events that took place and listening to the radio document the extent of damage and loss of life, the sculpture took a spiritual leap.
One cast is in downtown Athens, Ga.
One is above my studio door.
One is on display as a gift at the Kyoto Convention Center in Japan.
